Clara Lindqvist is a Stockholm-based textile artist, researcher, and educator holding an MFA in Textile Arts from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design.

Design Philosophy

For over fifteen years, Clara has investigated the intersection of historical lace structures and architectural interior spaces. Rather than viewing filet crochet as ornamental clutter, she treats the open-and-solid mesh as an architectural filter for natural daylight.

“Filet crochet is essentially binary architecture in thread: open mesh allows daylight to flood a living space, while solid blocks sculpt the shadows. It is the most honest textile technique we possess.”
